Inside Line Promotions – SHAWNEE, Okla. (Nov. 6, 2018) – Seth Bergman took a huge leap forward in his racing career this year.
Bergman contended for his first career Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com championship throughout the season before finishing second in the championship standings. It was his career-best result and marked the eighth straight season with a top-10 finish in the ASCS National Tour standings.
“We didn’t win the championship, but we took a big step closer in becoming a national champion,” he said. “This year was the closest we’ve come to winning the title and looking back I can pinpoint some areas that hampered us. If we can build on the positives from this year and correct some of the negatives I feel like 2019 will be our best year ever.”
Bergman also tied his most wins in an ASCS National Tour season with four trips to Victory Lane. That extends his winning streak with the series to seven consecutive seasons. Arguably the biggest triumph came in June when he scored his first career Jim Raper Memorial Dirt Cup victory during the 47th edition of the marquee event at Skagit Speedway in Alger, Wash.
“Growing up in Washington I attended the Dirt Cup a lot as a kid,” he said. “That is one of those dream races to win so to accomplish that feat was a special moment. Not only was it a huge win, it was a meaningful one because of the history of that race and the opportunity to win a big race in my home state.”
Bergman posted 16 top fives during series action to tie his most ever in a season and his 24 top 10s is tied for his third most in a single season with the ASCS National Tour.
In addition to his national triumphs, Bergman was also victorious with the USCS Series, ASCS Red River Region, ASCS Warrior Region and Sprint Invaders. His wins came in seven different states.
Overall, his 10 victories and 32 top fives rank second best in a single season for Bergman.
“We had a good season and I want to thank all of our partners, fans and families for supporting us,” he said. “We’re already preparing for 2019 and I can’t wait to get that season started to build on what we accomplished this year.”
