Inside Line Promotions – PARK CITY, Kan. (April 3, 2018) – Seth Bergman has momentum on his side entering the Vankor Texas Sprint Car Nationals this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway.
Bergman is a two-time winner of the marquee Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com event hosted at the bullring in Fort Worth, Texas, this Friday and Saturday. In fact, he’s earned three podiums, four top fives and seven top 10s in nine races at the track since 2012.
“Our track record at Texas Motor Speedway has been pretty consistent,” he said. “You feel a lot of confidence rolling onto the track knowing that you’ve been a contender each year you’ve raced there.”
Bergman enters the event riding a wave of momentum thanks to a pair of top-10 finishes last weekend at 81 Speedway during the 8th annual Park City Cup/Air Capital Shootout.
The NCRA Series event began on Friday with Bergman charging from seventh to second place in his first heat race and rallying from 10th to fifth place in his second heat. That lined him up on the outside of the second row for the main event.
“We put ourselves in a great position going into the A Main, but unfortunately the track took rubber within a few laps so passing was at a premium,” he said. “We lost one spot on the opening lap and then everyone rode around in the rubber for most of the remainder of the race.”
Bergman posted a fifth-place finish, which marked his fourth top five in the last six races.
The event wrapped up on Saturday and Bergman continued to showcase a fast race car. He maneuvered from third to win a heat race, which locked him into the fourth starting position for the main event.
“The track was rubbered up on the bottom before we took the green flag,” he said. “We started on the outside lane, which wasn’t the preferred lane. We battled between fifth and 10th throughout the race before ending eighth. We’d like to have won a race or two, but it was a solid weekend for us.”
