Inside Line Promotions – MILTON, Fla. (Feb. 26, 2018) – Seth Bergman captured his first victory of the season last Saturday during the finale of a USCS Series doubleheader at Southern Raceway.

The triumph came in only the seventh race of the season for Bergman. It’s his earliest win in a season since claiming his sixth start in 2014.

“It’s great to get a win this early in the season,” he said. “That’s why we travel the country. We’re out here to win. Winning provides so much momentum and confidence so hopefully we can carry this forward.”

Bergman opened the weekend on Friday by maneuvering from eighth to fifth place in a heat race during his debut at the bullring. That lined him up on the inside of the fifth row for the main event.

“The track was difficult to pass on so you had to take advantage of every opportunity to get by people,” he said. “We were able to gain a few positions and come out of there with a top five so it was a solid night.”

Bergman’s fifth-place result guided him into Saturday’s finale, which began with him charging from seventh to third place in a heat race. That lined him up on the pole for the 30-lap A Main.

“I knew getting the jump on the start was critical and we were able to do that,” he said. “Once you’re in the lead you can control the race better. Then it’s up to you to hit your marks and make smart decisions.”

Bergman did just that as he led the distance to pick up the triumph.
