Inside Line Promotions – SHAWNEE, Okla. (March 29, 2017) – Mother Nature has not been kind to Seth Bergman, who has seen more of his races rained out than completed this season.
That trend continued last weekend when a trio of races were either postponed or cancelled because of the wet weather. The Park City Cup/Air Capital Shootout with the NCRA Series at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kan., was postponed because of rain and the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour event at Randolph County Raceway in Moberly, Mo., was cancelled because of the weather.
“It’s frustrating because we want to be on the track, but there’s nothing you can do to combat Mother Nature,” he said. “We’ll just show up to the next race and hope the weather is good.”
Bergman said he is watching the weather reports closely this week to determine whether he will compete this Friday and Saturday at Southern New Mexico Speedway in Las Cruces, N.M., with the ASCS Southwest Region or this Saturday at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark., for an ASCS Mid-South Region event that is co-sanctioned with the ASCS Red River Region.
Bergman last raced at Southern New Mexico Speedway in 2014 when he garnered a 12th-place finish. His best result at the track came the previous year with a fifth-place showing.
Bergman has limited starts at I-30 Speedway in the past three seasons. However, he earned a sixth-place result in 2009 during his first year visiting the track. He then produced six top fives and nine top 10s between 2011 and 2013.
