Inside Line Promotions – BRANDON, S.D. (Aug. 3, 2016) – Seth Bergman had another consistent week of competition by earning a pair of top 10s with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.
That gives him 18 top 10s in his last 20 races, including a streak of six in a row.
“We pride ourselves on winning races and that’s what our goal is each night we pull into a race track,” he said. “It’s good to be consistent, but we’re striving to be consistently running for podiums.”
Last week’s action began on Thursday at Park Jefferson International Speedway in Jefferson, S.D., where Bergman maneuvered from sixth to third place in a heat race. That earned him a trip into the feature redraw. Unfortunately, he pulled the highest number – eight – to start the main event on the outside of the fourth row.
“The track was one lane around the bottom so track position was key,” he said. “Everyone pretty much got in line and rode where they were unless someone in front of them made a mistake.”
Bergman ended with a ninth-place result.
The action concluded on Sunday at Badlands Motor Speedway, where Bergman powered from seventh to fourth place in a heat race. That ranked him 10th in overall points, which missed a spot in the feature redraw by only two positions.
Once again Bergman battled within the top 10 throughout the main event before posting a seventh-place finish.
He will return to action this Thursday through Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, for the 26th annual Arnold Motor Supply 360 Knoxville Nationals. Bergman has finished inside the top eight during all four visits to Knoxville Raceway this season.
“This is probably the biggest weekend of the season for 360 sprint cars,” he said. “Our goal is to go out there on our prelim night and lay down a good qualifying lap, move forward in the heat race and set ourselves up for a strong weekend.”
