Inside Line Promotions – FORT WORTH, Texas (May 19, 2016) – Seth Bergman will tackle a pair of upper Midwest tracks this weekend.

Bergman is headed to Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, to compete on Saturday before venturing to Badlands Motor Speedway in Brandon, S.D., on Sunday for the season opener at the high-banked track.

“Any time we can get laps at Knoxville it’s important,” he said. “That is a track that takes lots and lots of laps to be a contender at and if we want to be in the hunt to win the 360 Knoxville Nationals in August we need to make the most of our laps there this weekend and any other chance we get to race there.”

Bergman charged from 16th to an eighth-place result during his season debut at Knoxville Raceway in April.

Sunday will mark his first visit to Badlands Motor Speedway since earning a runner-up result last September.

“We’re excited to return there with the notes we learned last year,” he said. “Hopefully we can come out one spot better.”

Bergman is coming off a solid weekend with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour during the Texas World Dirt Track Championships at Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track.

The doubleheader began on Friday with Bergman advancing from fifth to third place during a heat race before he placed second in a qualifier. That ranked him ninth in overall points and lined him up on the inside of the fifth row for the 20-lap main event.

“The track rubbered up and they shortened the race to 20 laps so it was tough to move too far forward,” he said. “We closed in on one of the four lock-in positions (into Saturday’s main event), but were unable to find a way around Logan Forler.”

Bergman scored a fifth-place result, which was his ninth top five of the season.

He returned to the track on Saturday and won a heat race to kick off the action. Bergman then advanced from fourth to third place in a qualifier. That lined him up on the inside of the sixth row for the main event.

“The track rubbered up again and was around the bottom,” he said. “There wasn’t much passing at all. We got what we could.”

Bergman advanced for a ninth-place finish. He now ranks eighth in the ASCS National Tour championship standings.
