Inside Line Promotions – CLEVELAND, Texas (March 30, 2016) – Seth Bergman is seeking his first Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour triumph of the season and there’s no better race to accomplish that feat than the next one on the national schedule: the Eagle Motorsports Rock ‘N Roll 50 Presented by MyRacePass.
Bergman, who has battled tough luck throughout the first two weekends of the season with the ASCS National Tour, is the only current national driver who has won the 50-lap race, which is set for this Saturday at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Ark.
“I’ve always enjoyed the Rock ‘N Roll 50 because it tests you to the limit,” he said. “The track will constantly change throughout the feature so not only do you have to put the proper setup on your race car, you have to adapt as a driver every lap. I think that makes it a driver’s type of race.”
Bergman charged from 12th to claim last year’s event after scoring his first career ASCS National Tour triumph during the event in 2012.
“It usually draws a tough group of local cars to battle with all of the usual national drivers so it will be a huge task to repeat, but I feel extremely confident that we put in the hard work to give ourselves an opportunity at accomplishing that,” he said.
Bergman kicked off last weekend on Friday at Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige, Texas, where he finished second in a heat race to line up on the outside of the fifth row for the main event. Bergman was running inside the top 10 early in the race when a caution allowed him to head to the work area to replace a drag link.
Unfortunately, he didn’t make it back onto the track in time before the race was restarted and was trapped in the work area. Bergman was credited with a 20th-place finish.
Luck didn’t get any better on Saturday at Bronco Raceway Park, where Bergman placed fifth in a heat race, third in the B Main and 17th in the main event on the tricky track.
