The 43rd running of the Spring Nationals at Devil’s Bowl Speedway delivered two checkered flags on the final night of action. Wayne Johnson found victory lane with the American Sprint Car Series parking the City Vending No. 2c on the front stretch. Second place was granted to a hard charging Seth Bergman which completed an EAGLE top two finish.
The Devil’s Bowl score is Johnson’s 46th career ASCS victory, moving the Oklahoma City native to third in the series all time win list. The win is Johnson’s ninth at the Devil’s Bowl in ASCS National competition. Seth Bergman closed tremendously as the laps wound down and took his 20th career podium finish, only 0.813 seconds behind Johnson.
The IMCA RaceSaver portion of the evenings events granted Dalton Stevens the win in the 305 sprint car division. Besting a full field entrants and claiming his first win of the season.
As the Australian season draws near, one driver carries huge momentum into the off season. The thirteenth and final round was contested Saturday at the SuperCheap Auto Sprint Car Series at AusDeck Patios Archerfield Speedway. Defending Champion Bryan Mann took the win in his EAGLE car from Queensland Speedway Spares. Bryan Mann got the jump on the start of the A-Main event and settled into the race lead and began opening up a lead. Amidst all the restarts Mann took the win and put an exclamation point on the season.
