Inside Line Promotions – SHAWNEE, Okla. (Nov. 17, 2015) – Seth Bergman continues to build his program and the 2015 season was another large step forward for the Washington native.
Bergman powered to a season-high 13 feature victories, which surpassed his previous best of 10 set last year. He also placed a career-best fourth in the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour championship standings.
“Our goal is to win as many races as possible and put ourselves in contention for a national championship,” he said. “We’ve improved each year for the last few years. This year was another big step forward.”
Bergman has improved his ranking in the national standings each of the last five seasons and this year he set a career high with four Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour triumphs, which ranked second in the series. Bergman also scored 16 top fives – third most in the series – and 20 top 10s.
“We put ourselves in contention to win a lot of races this year,” he said. “We had a few fluke incidents with mechanical problems or being involved in crashes that took away a shot at several more wins, but you’ll have that in racing. The most important thing is to consistently run near the front and I think we had one of the fastest cars consistently throughout the season.”
Bergman’s ASCS National Tour wins came at the Rock ‘N Roll 50 at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Ark., on May 2; at the Eagle Nationals at Eagle Raceway in Eagle, Neb., on May 30; at a preliminary night of the Jim Raper Memorial Dirt Cup at Skagit Speedway in Alger, Wash., on June 26; and at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas, on Sept. 12.
He was also victorious at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, Calif., on March 7; at Superbowl Speedway in Greenville, Texas, on April 11; at Lubbock Speedway in Lubbock, Texas, on May 15; at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kan., on May 17; at Willamette Speedway in Lebanon, Ore., on July 2; at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Waco, Texas, on Aug. 21; at Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige, Texas, on Aug. 22; and at Jackson Speedway in Jackson, Minn., on Sept. 4.
Additionally, Bergman repeated as champion of the $10,000-to-win, 26th annual Bob’s Burgers & Brew Summer Nationals at Skagit Speedway on July 25.
“Every win is important, but it’s always great to win close to home,” he said. “Winning a Summer Nationals and a Dirt Cup prelim night at Skagit was special for me and my family. Overall, winning races at 12 tracks in eight states this year is the type of growth we need to capitalize on to keep building our program into one of the best in the country.
“I want to thank my family as well as my sponsors and fans for their support. I’m excited about what the future has to hold for us.”
Bergman is scheduled to open the 2016 season on Jan. 1-2, Jan. 5 and Jan. 8-9 at Cocopah Speedway in Somerton, Ariz., for the 2nd annual Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown.
