Inside Line Promotions – WEST SILOAM SPRINGS, Okla. (Sept. 8, 2014) – Last Sunday couldn’t have gone much better for Seth Bergman, who cruised to his ninth victory of the season.
Bergman won his heat race and the feature during the ASCS Sooner Region event at West Siloam Speedway, where he led all but the first handful of laps of the main event.
“When you work hard and put time and energy into things to be fast and then you go and execute, it just gives you confidence that we’re doing the right things and headed in the right direction,” he said.
Bergman led his entire heat race after starting on the outside of the front row. That gave him a spot in the feature redraw, where he pulled the No. 6 in the random draw to line up on the outside of the third row for the main event.
“It took me about four laps to get the lead,” he said. “I went to the top to take the lead. It didn’t seem like anybody was running up there. Then I moved around to see where I wanted to be. I never really ran one line in particular. I was constantly searching for the best line.”
The win marked his second at the track this season.
“It couldn’t have gone much better,” he said. “The race car was good from the time we unloaded it. I felt like we got better and better.”
Bergman will tackle Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas, for the Port-A-Cool U.S. Dirt Track Championship with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour this Friday and Saturday.
“I feel like we should definitely go down there and be a contender and have a shot at winning,” he said.
He earned a podium finish at the track last year and a top 10 in 2012.
