Inside Line Promotions – SHAWNEE, Okla. (June 10, 2014) – Seth Bergman is set to kick off the Bob Westphal Memorial Cup Speedweek this weekend.
Following a pair of Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour rainouts last weekend, Bergman will embark upon the five-race Speedweek beginning this Saturday at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas.
“I just want to start out good and have a good weekend,” he said. “Speedweek can be long and grueling. I want to get a good start, work hard all week and come away with good results.”
Bergman finished seventh and 13th, respectively, during the two previous Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour races at Devil’s Bowl Speedway this season.
“Devil’s Bowl can be tricky,” he said. “It’s tough. In the last five or six times we’ve been there, we’ve had a racy service once. It seems like when it starts to go slick they get rubber. They have their hands full.”
Prior to the start of the Speedweek, Bergman will tackle Timberline Speedway in Corley, Texas, this Friday with the ASCS Lone Star Region. He scored a third-place finish during his first-ever race at the track last season.
“I remember it was slick,” he said. “It had a good shape and good banking to it. It put on a decent race, too.”
Following the event at Timberline Speedway and the Speedweek opener at Devil’s Bowl Speedway, teams will have a few days off before the remainder of the Bob Westphal Memorial Cup Speedweek.
The other Speedweek races are Wednesday, June 18, at Lawton Speedway in Lawton, Okla.; Thursday, June 19, at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla.; Friday, June 20, at Outlaw Motorsports Park in Wainwright, Okla.; and Saturday, June 21, at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo.
