PETERSEN MEDIA- Seth Bergman made it exciting over the weekend in Eagle, NE as he piloted his Pete Petersen Motorsports entry to a pair of hard fought sixth place finishes at the Hinchman Indy Eagle Nationals.
With warm and windy weather blanketing the Eagle, NE area, Seth and his team paid close attention to the always tricky, and ever changing dirt surface as the night got underway.
Lining up in the eleventh spot for the preliminary feature, Seth quickly began working the bottom of the speedway aboard his Superior Marine/Corridor Electric/Speedmart entry.
Slowly working his way forward after falling back on the initial start, Bergman hooked up in a entertaining battle with Danny Wood as they fought for the sixth spot with just a handful of laps to go.
On the white flag lap, Bergman made in interesting as he looked to drive around Wood, and coming out of turn four he narrowly beat Wood to the stripe and took the sixth spot.
“It was a pretty good night,” said Bergman. “We bolted on some SuperShox Friday to try them out, so we played with a few things, and I think got rolling pretty good.”
Scoring a dominating heat race win on Saturday night, Bergman lined his machine up in the eighth spot as he just narrowly missed making the top-six redraw.
Track conditions were picturesque heading into the 40-lap feature event, and it proved to be so as the fans were treated to a very fast and entertaining feature event.
Starting right in the thick of things, Bergman held strong inside the top-10 for the first half of the race, but got in a very entertaining battle with Jason Johnson, Wayne Johnson, Brad Loyet, Johnny Herrera and Jack Dover as the pack traded spot all over the race track.
At one point Bergman had worked his way up into the second spot, but as the drivers worked through lapped traffic, Bergman would end up sixth when the dust settled.
“What a fun race we had going on there at the end Saturday,” Bergman explained. “We had a great car all night, and were up battling for the second spot, but just fell back to sixth as we got dicing through traffic”.
Bergman and his Pete Petersen Motorsports team would like to thank Superior Marine, Corridor Electric, Speedmart Inc, Eagle Chassis, ButlerBuilt, and 7 Industries for their support in 2012.
ON TAP: Bergman will now gear up for the 2012 Sizzlin’ Summer Speedweek that kicks of Friday night at the Devils Bowl Speedway.
